Yesterday, I went to Split Point Lighthouse looking for the ghost of a teenage girl that apparently died here a century ago.
It’s said that in the early 1900’s a family occupied the lighthouse. One night, the teenager daughter explained to her parents that she was pregnant. The father took her fishing that night and she never returned.
Over the last 100 years, there have been several teenage boys claiming to see her ghost when on the rocks beneath the lighthouse. They say that a girl dressed in old clothes appeared from the water and begun persuading them to join her – it’s thought that she’s looking for a father to her child and can then have peace.
I had heard of this story and was in the area, so I decided to take a quick look for her.
