Enamel tableware and cooking gear is considered eco-friendly due to its durability. Often, Enamelware is passed down through generations and we hope that’s what happens to some of gear in this range. If that’s not the case and it’s eventually disposed of, the Enamel coating doesn’t impact the ability for any of these products to be recycled.
All Enamelware on the WAY&FARER website from Barebones Living has a steel core with either a Slate-grey or Eggshell-white Enamel coating. The Enamel coating creates a stunning finish, although its primary purpose is to preserve the Steel base that the item is made from, which completely stops anything leaching into your food or drinks and helps make the item last for many years.
We first started with a small collection of enamel products that included premium enamel plates, enamel bowls and enamel mugs. (Head over here for our full range of camping plates).
With the Slate-grey colour and unique hand-finished Stainless Steel rims, the set of 2 Enamel dinner plates quickly became our highest selling product. We’ve since added a range of Eggshell white dinner plates, salad plates, bowls & mugs and have noticed the same people that bought these products in the Slate-grey have come back to buy them in the new colour-way, which is a great sign that they love them as much as we do!
