Other than the small Polyester sheath, once this product is produced, it has little harm on the environment, although the manufacturing process can be quite heavy, depending if new or recycled materials are used.
Stainless Steel is extremely durable and infinitely, 100% recyclable. Now days, Stainless Steel products are made with up to 70% recycled materials, which reduces waste ending up in landfill. Using recycled scrap metal to produce new Stainless Steel products also reduces the resources and energy required during the production process as less of the product comes from newly mined materials.
Beech Wood is a renewable material, although the trees are slow growing. As the wood has tight grains, it’s very strong. Beech Wood products can be recycled and made into new timber items, otherwise it’ll decompose if buried and enough time is allowed.
Polyester is a synthetic, petroleum-based material that takes hundreds of years to break down and while doing so, it causes micro-plastic pollution, however it is recyclable. The manufacturing process for Polyester is very harmful for the environment, although it is possible to produce some Polyester products from from recycled plastic, which reduces the resources required, especially in regards to the chemicals.
