Uluru's Closest Campground & Caravan Park

Inside Yulara, the small town and holiday village just outside of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is the Ayers Rock Campground, a comfortable place to set up the caravan, RV or tent near the big red rock.

Ayers Rock Campground is the main ..and only caravan park in the area, so you’re not spoiled for choice, but the great thing is that everything you’ll need is all with-in a short distance, as the campground is central to the town that has a petrol station, grocery store and small shopping centre, a medical centre and of course, the entrance to Uluru is just around the corner.

The caravan park is mainly made up of powered sites in rows next to each other. There are also non-powered caravan/RV sites and a non-powered tents only camping area.

Trees and some scrub are spread throughout the campground, but you’re almost certain to have full exposure to the sun, so bring a along a camping tarp or shelter for a bit of shade.

With the entire campground and caravan park being on a relatively flat and even surface, campsite access is quite easy, although some of the tracks and individual sites are narrow, so an accurate and tight reverse is required for some spots, but it’s usually not a problem.

Campground Facilities

Large, well maintained and clean toilet and shower blocks are found throughout the campground and there are laundry facilities.

When you’re not out exploring Uluru, enjoy the comforts of the campground as there’s a pool, playground and picnic areas free to use. You can also take advantage of the barbecues and camp kitchen.

As far as other comforts go, the Ayers Rock Campground is right in town and just near the shops and services. If you don’t want to take your own car and it’s too hot to walk, a free shuttle bus is available.
