Bamboo, Birch & Sisal Long Handled Dish Brush
Product Eco Rating
This dish brush has a long Hardwood Birch wood handle and Bamboo head with Sisal plant-based fibres used for the bristles.
The head is connected to the handle with a Stainless Steel mount.
Bamboo is a very fast growing material that actual benefits the environment as it improves the quality of the soil, reduces erosion, produces Oxygen and soaks up more than 5 times the CO₂ than similar plants. Very little work is required from harvesting the Bamboo to turning it into this dish brush head.
The bristles are made from Sisal, which is a plant that easily and quickly grows in harsh environments and also requires little resources and energy to harvest the plant and make this bristles.
Birch wood, used for the handle, is a durable and of course renewable material that’s in abundance. It takes much longer to grow and mature than Bamboo, although each tree yields much more timber.
The Steel component is 100% recyclable and the Stainless finish prevents toxins from leaching onto your dishes or the environment if incorrectly disposed of.
The speed that both Bamboo and Sisal grows and regrows, the use of the durable hardwood handle and the lack of chemicals, energy and other resources required to produce this brush, its ability to be both completely recycled (the Stainless Steel connection) and fully biodegrade (all other parts) are what makes this a very environmentally friendly and sustainably made product.
