Oilskin Cotton Canvas Tarp
Product Eco Rating
This Canvas Tarp is handmade in Spain using natural ingredients and materials.
Both the Forest Green and Mountain Brown colours are derived from natural materials, with a Linseed Oil & Wax mixture applied to the Cotton Canvas to increase its durability and make it water proof (water proof for heavy rain, although water would still penetrate the Canvas if submerged).
Very little energy and other resources are required during the manufacturing process of this tarp.
Although fertilisers and other chemicals are known to be used when farming and producing Cotton (Canvas), it has a much smaller Carbon Footprint than comparable materials used for tarps, such as genuine Leather (the farming process is much harsher) and of course, synthetic materials such as Polyethylene which typical/common tarps are usually made from.
Waxed Canvas is already an extremely durable material (relative to use), the Oil formula further enhances this.
Bush Craft Spain have produce canvas tarps with longevity in mind with the hopes that the one your purchase will be maintained and used for a lifetime of shelter when heading out bush, then passed down to future generations for even more exploration.
Every part of the Tarp is tough, durable and completely biodegradable other than the Polyester tag, which can instead come with a Leather tag upon request without a worry, just add it into the comments when purchasing or reply to your sale confirmation (fast) letting us know that you would instead prefer the tag to be Leather.
The materials used and the process of producing this Oilskin Canvas Tarp deem this product as environmentally friendly.
