Blended Cotton Canvas Tarp
Product Eco Rating
This tarp is made with a blended canvas material, being 80% cotton and 20% is polyester.
Cotton is a biodegradable material, although with most/almost all non-organic plant-based materials, pesticides and fertilisers are used during farming, then some other chemicals are used during the manufacturing process.
Cotton will degrade quite fast once buried, reducing Landfill, therefore 80% of this tarp will return to nature with-in a short period of time. As for the the 20% polyester component, this will take an extremely long time to decompose, although overall, this blended canvas tarp is much better for the environment than completely synthetic tarps and shelters.
The pegs are made from Stainless Steel, which are extremely durable and infinitely recyclable. If accidentally left in nature, which pegs often are, the Stainless finish will prevent any toxins leeching into the soil or water catchments.
