Canvas camping tarps are suitable for outdoor use and resistant to rain, but not designed for extended use in heavy down poors. They’re a great way to make a quick set-up, light shelter or shade and serve many purposes, hence why canvas tarps are known essential camping item, but they shouldn’t be considered as completely water or weather proof.
