The dinner plates, salad plates, bows and mugs all have a steel-core with a porcelain enamel finish. The rim around the top of each item is hand-polished stainless steel.
Steel is infinitely recyclable and the Enamel coating does not impact its ability to be turned into Scrap Metal. The Steel core of these plates is extremely durable and the Porcelain Enamel coating increases the preservation of the Steel and prevents leaching, although it can crack, chip, fade and wear overtime and with harsh treatment.
The negative impact of the process of mining the Alloy and other minerals to create the Steel is outweighed by its durability and recyclability, as the materials never go to waste, once produced. The process of creating the Porcelain Enamel coating on the Steel creates toxic chemicals, although in recent years new methods have been created to recycle these byproducts.
All of the cutlery and the blade the on the steak knife is stainless steel. Much as the same as the enamel coating, the stainless finish prevents toxins from leaching into the environment.
The hardwood in the steak knife is FSC Certified, which is a global forestry certification that ensures the wood is sustainably sourced from a responsible forest. When a product is FSC Certified, it’s checked at every stage of process to make sure that it meets the FSC standards and that the product can be genuinely certified.
The wine tumblers are BPA & BPS Free Polymer. They’re safe to use and completely recyclable.
