How to care for your canvas camping chair

Although this folding canvas chair has a relatively large weight capacity at about 100 kgs, due to the design where the canvas seat hangs on the timber frame, if the chair isn’t set up correctly, there’s the potential for the canvas to tear. To avoid the canvas from tearing, a thick, durable padding has been placed in all four corners. This padding is hidden once the chair is set up, although you can easily see it and find it when looking in the small pouches on each corner of the canvas seat. When you place the canvas seat onto the timber frame, please make sure that the padding inside each pouch is placed over the timber.Â
This timber and canvas folding chair is made for outdoor use, although it shouldn’t be left outside for extended periods of time. Avoid leaving the chair in harsh weather, including conditions of heavy rain, high humidity and full sun for long periods.
Timber & Canvas Folding Camping Chair Product Eco Rating
This timber and canvas chair is mostly made of biodegradable or recyclable materials. Although it does contain some synthetics to increase the weather resistance and durability, it’s a great sustainable alternative to most camping chairs.
Thick blended canvas is used for the seat, which is 80% is cotton, the other 20% is polyester.
Cotton is a biodegradable material, although with most/almost all non-organic plant-based materials, pesticides and fertilisers are used during farming, then some other chemicals are used during the manufacturing process.
The 80% cotton part of the canvas will degrade quite fast once buried, reducing Landfill.
Timber is used for the folding frame of the chair, which is of course renewable, benefits the environment while alive and will completely biodegrade if not repurposed, although please keep in mind that the timber is coated in a plastic laminate, which increases its durability but that part won’t break down for a long time. To keep the timber frame sturdy while having the ability to fold up, Aluminium Alloy brackets and hinges are used, which are 100% recyclable.
This is a great, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable folding camping chair and good eco alternative to most camping chairs on the market.
